5 Smoothies for Bone Health

Healthy smoothies perform several functions in the body, they help you lose and maintain a healthy weight, they prevent dehydration, they aid digestion, they are a good source of antioxidants, and they are a good source of calcium which is essential for bone and tooth health. Today, we will be exploring 5 simple smoothie recipes for bone health.

Green Smoothie; this is a blend of kale or spinach, 1 kiwi, ½ avocado, 1 cup of almond milk, and 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds. Wash the ingredients, and blend until you achieve a smooth consistency, pour your smoothie into a glass, and it is ready. This recipe contains magnesium from kale or spinach, which is a mineral important for bone health and overall muscle function.

Orange Citrus Boost; contains Vitamin C which is crucial for collagen production, which is essential for bone health and connective tissues. This recipe includes 2 peeled oranges, ½ cup of plain yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds. Blend your ingredients to get the consistency you desire, there your smoothie is ready.

Calcium Crush Smoothie; this recipe includes 1 cup of kale, 1 cup of broccoli florets, ½ cup of pineapple chunks, and 1 cup of coconut water. Pour your ingredients into your blend and blend, with the coconut water serving as the water you use to blend. This recipe is wholesome such that it contains Iron from kale, and the coconut water contributes to hydration. They are both important for maintaining bone density.

Banana Almond Bliss; 2 peeled bananas, ½ cup of almond (milk or butter), 1 teaspoon honey, pour your ingredients into your blender and blend. Almond provides a good source of calcium and vitamin D which are essential for bone health. Also, bananas are rich in potassium, which is important for electrolyte balance and potentially beneficial for the bone.

Peachy Bone Builder; 1 cup of peaches, ½ cup of cottage cheese, ½ cup almond milk, and 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds. Pour your ingredients into your blend and blend to get your desired consistency. This recipe is called Bone Builder because it contains Calcium, protein, fiber, and Iron which are important to bone health and bone density. 

Regular intake of the smoothies above is beneficial for building bone health and density, they also contain ingredients associated with various health benefits, making them a wholesome healthy choice. Feel free to customize the recipe with your desired ingredients.
